Construction Update: New DVC Tower Receives Paint at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Since late 2022, we’ve followed the construction of the new DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Today we’ve got new details on the progress, and it seems we’re one step closer to opening!

This morning, our team noticed visible progress on the exterior of the building.
A Fresh Coat of Paint
The new DVC tower has received the first round of paint around the sides of the building. The new paint shade is a lighter gray, which may indicate that the building is actually being primed.
The towers are likely to receive their final paint colors at a later date.

According to Disney’s concept art for the Polynesian DVC Towers, it appears the final exterior colors will include shades of brown and tan.
These warm neutrals will blend nicely into the current theme of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Additionally, sliding glass doors have been installed in at least some of the rooms.
A Year in the Making
The new DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is slated to open to DVC members in late 2024. Disney has indicated that new amenities, recreation, and dining options will accompany the new tower.
Construction began in late 2022 and went vertical in early 2023. As of now, construction crews still have plenty of work to do.

Walking Path
The building lies along the plot of land that connects Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While construction temporarily closed the walking path between the two resorts, the path is now re-routed, but open for guest use.
New Info
Earlier this month, the Disney Vacation Club Board confirmed that the new tower will be part of the pre-existing Polynesian Villas & Bungalows condominium association.
This means that all current owners (direct and resale) will have access to the new towers at the 11-month booking mark.
