Disney Fab 50 Gold Character Statues Receive New Medallions
Disney World marked its 50th Anniversary with an 18-month-long celebration.
“The World’s Most Magical Celebration” included new shows and thrilling attractions across the Disney theme parks.
As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Disney World also debuted gold character statues in all four of the parks. The Disney Fab 50 Character Collection featured your Disney faves and a “50th” medallion.
Many of us wondered what would happen to all 50 statues once the 50th anniversary celebration concluded, but Disney eventually announced that the statues would be updated to have a more timeless appearance.
Our MickeyBlog reporting team noticed a small change on the statues today! Let’s check out this new update.
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection
MickeyBlog reported on these gold statues this past September noting that the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection was here to stay and getting a refresh. We also noticed that some of the medallions were removed.
Today, our MickeyBlog team discovered that the 50th medallions have been replaced with new silver medallions in Magic Kingdom. Here are Jacques and Gus Gus from Cinderella!
Here is Dumbo and his new medallion.
Here’s a closer look.
Each medallion is silver and features a small design themed to the character.
Tinker Bell looks great and her medallion features a small star.
Our team also spotted Orange Bird with a “sun-inspired” medallion.
And Abu who is holding his medallion proudly!
And check out Stitch!
And you can’t forget the Cheshire Cat and his mesmerizing medallion!
Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, most of the statues are either missing their medallions or still have 50th anniversary designs.
Frozone from The Incredibles, however, has been updated!
What do you think of the new medallions? These new updates are permanent fixtures to the statues and mark the end of the 50th celebration and the beginning of a new year.
Be sure to check out all of the new medallions and follow along with MickeyBlog to stay updated on this and all things to Disney.
