The 50th Anniversary Statue Refresh Has Begun in Disney World
Walt Disney World’s big 50th Anniversary celebration wrapped up this past March after almost a year and a half of festivities. There were special nighttime spectaculars, food items, merchandise, decorations, and more.
Even though the celebration has been officially over for a while now, there are still some parts that remain in Disney World. And today, we noticed one of those things changing!
50th Medallions Gone
The 50th medallions have been removed from the golden character statues in EPCOT! Disney recently shared that they would be refurbishing the statues and keeping them in the park.
As you can see, the refurbishment includes the removal of the 50th anniversary medallions that you could find on each statue. We’re not sure if any other work will be done to the statues, we’ll have to wait and see!
The removal of the medallions makes these statues more timeless, allowing them to remain in the parks for as long as Disney wants them to.
