50th Anniversary Paper Cups Gone at Walt Disney World, Old Favorite Design Returns
As the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World has drawn to a close, we have found ourselves caught up in a whirlwind of noticing different elements of the park returning back to their former, pre-“Most Magical Celebration” states.
This includes small changes, such as rugs and small “50th” decor being removed from the resort hotels, to larger changes, such as the spectacular anniversary plaque being taken away from Cinderella Castle.
Today, our MickeyBloggers noticed yet another of these post-anniversary changes, that will become apparent to guests right across the entire resort. Intrigued?
Well, it’s all to do with the paper cups used at quick service dining locations…
Throughout the 50th anniversary, it was a snazzy, red, celebratory design of cup that was used across the resort. Now the party period is over, Disney have brought back this “classic” design of colorful paper cup to the resort instead.
Really, we haven’t seen these guys since September 2021, so being served our fountain beverage in one was a bit of a blast from the past!
As you can see from the photos, these returning cups are the brightest, most colorful designs, which feature for both paper and insulated foam cups.
The design for these was partly inspired by the iconic work of the legendary Disney artist Mary Blair, with bold, bright shapes and sweet park icons scattered throughout. You can also spot the Coca-Cola sponsorship logos amidst the color. We absolutely adore this design, and sure guests will be happy to see these cups return to the resort!
It was over at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot that our MickeyBlogger Kristen spotted the cups, although we anticipate that all other dining locations across the resort will soon have them back in stock too.
Conversely, it’s worth noting that, back in January, our MickeyBloggers found this beautiful, brand-new, purple design of paper cup aboard the Disney Wish. These were celebrating the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, which is still going strong across the parks. Maybe we’ll see this design come ashore from Disney Cruise Line and feature in the parks as well over the coming weeks?
Either way, we’ll be staying tuned!
