Touches of 50th Anniversary Celebrations Removed from Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
After a magical 18 months, Walt Disney World’s “Most Magical Celebration in the World” is officially over. As we make our way around the Walt Disney World Resort today, we have seen the removal of some of the special touches installed just for the 50th anniversary celebration including at the Resort Hotels.
Our first giveaway that the Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration was officially over was noted right when we walked into Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa this morning. It was there we noted that the welcome mats at the Resort Hotel’s entrance were changed from the 50th anniversary ones to the standard ones with the Grand Floridian logo on them.
In addition to the removal of the 50th anniversary welcome mats at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, other signs that Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary has officially ended can be seen all around the Walt Disney World Resort.
This morning, in the Magic Kingdom, Mickey Mouse was meeting and greeting his fans in his old outfit and not his Earidescent costume that was designed just for the celebration.
While Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary might be over, Guests visiting in the coming months will be able to celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th year birthday! Within the past few weeks, we have seen touches of this celebration popping up in the parks including on paper products at quick-service restaurant locations and pressed penny machines.
While it’s sad to see “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” come to an end, I’m excited to see touches of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary celebrations come to Walt Disney World!
