Good News! Disney World’s Gold Character Statues Are Here to Stay
As part of Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration, 50 gold statues of different Disney characters were placed around all four Disney Parks, and they even feature an interactive element that works with the MagicBand+.

While the 50th anniversary ended in March 2023, the statues have since remained in the parks, still bearing their 50th anniversary emblems. Many of us wondered whether Disney planned to remove them, and now we have the answer!
The Gold Statues Are Here to Stay!
In an Instagram post, Disney Parks confirmed that the gold statues are not going anywhere! Their caption states:
“We have FAB-ulous news! Over the next few months, @WaltDisneyImagineering is sprinkling a touch of timeless pixie dust to refresh the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection across all 4 @WaltDisneyWorld theme parks so you can continue to discover and interact with all 50 characters!”

If we had to guess, the “refresh” will likely involve removing the 50th signs, which would give them a more timeless look.

To be honest, we really love the addition of these statues to the parks and we’re excited to check out their new look! According to Disney, the “refresh” will take place over the next few months.
