Mystery Construction Continues at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Mystery construction continues at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and if you’re wondering what’s up, you’re not alone!
Earlier this year, scrim was installed near Tamu Tamu Refreshments in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. More scrim was later added, extending down the path by Harambe Market.
The popular quick-service location has not been impacted by the construction and remains open from 10:45AM to 3:15PM daily.
Visible Progress on Mystery Construction
Disney has given no information on the nature of the project, but our team spotted some noticeable progress peeking out from behind those construction walls.
The gabled roof of a new structure is now visible from behind the scrim, while signage directs guests away from the construction site.
We can only speculate on the structure’s intended purpose and the scope of the ongoing mystery construction, but possibilities may include a new dining area or just additional seating for guests.
Either way, we suspect the structure will provide some much-needed shade in those hot and humid months!
African-Inspired Offerings in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom boasts highly immersive theming, Broadway-level stage show “Festival of the Lion King,” and of course, fan-favorite attraction Kilimanjaro Safaris: An African Expedition.
Hungry guests can also indulge in a variety of delicious sweet and savory foods.
You’ll find sweet treats at Tamu Tamu Refreshments, African-inspired soul food at Harambe Market, and a range of sandwiches, paninis, and pastries at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery.
Of course, don’t forget to say “Jambo!” to classic Disney characters at Tusker House Restaurant!
