Top 3 Reasons to Visit Dawa Bar RIGHT NOW!
Finding a shady spot to take a little relaxation break in the heart of Harambe exudes those classic ‘Animal Kingdom’ vibes that are hard to come by in some of the Park’s newer areas. I for one was thrilled when Dawa Bar announced its reopening a few weeks back, because that means walking into Africa now has a liveliness that feels as close to the pre-COVID days that it has in months!
For me, there are many reasons to head to Africa for a relaxing refreshment, but I’ve narrowed down the top 3 reasons Dawa Bar is the perfect choice for a drink. Check it out!
#3- Drink Options
Is a light lager or hearty IPA your drink of choice? Dawa bar has both! Are you more of a specialty cocktail type of vacationer? Dawa Bar has a wide selection of exclusive specialty drinks! Or, are you like me and opt for wine 99% of the time? They’ve got us wine lovers covered, too!
The Dawa Bar is the only walk-up, full-service bar in Africa, and one of the very few in all of Animal Kingdom! Nomad Lounge is great, but when you don’t have the time to wait for table and be served by a waiter, a grab-and-go drink is sometimes the best option.
In addition to beer, wine, and specialty cocktails, Dawa Bar also has any and every kind of liquor in stock, so you can just as easily opt for a rum and coke if you’d prefer. They also have some salty snacks on hand that pair perfectly with just about any alcoholic beverage.
#2- Enhanced Cleaning and Safety Precautions
Social distance markers are in place at the order points and plexiglass has been installed to separate bartenders from guests.
Cast Members are constantly (and I mean constantly) sanitizing and wiping down used tables.
I never thought a bar would earn points for its health and safety measures, but Dawa Bar is one that ranks high on the list of safe places to enjoy a drink!
Complete with ‘dirty’ and ‘clean’ pen cups and even touch-less payment options, I felt extremely safe placing my order, paying, and enjoying my drink outdoors at Dawa Bar…
#1- Plenty of (Outdoor) Seating to Choose From
Speaking of outdoors, there is definitely no shortage of tables in Harambe! A partially-covered patio featuring rustic wooden tables awaits you at Dawa Bar itself. That overly-full beer won’t spill a drop as the tables are merely steps away from the bar…but fully distanced too!
I like to take my drink and wander, but since walking with your mask off to take a drink is a BIG no-no right now, I opted to take a seat myself…in Harambe Market! Harambe Market isn’t currently serving most days of the week. That means all of those covered tables are sitting unused!
My favorite place to sit and enjoy a drink or snack is at the far back of Harambe Market. I love to watch the Wildlife Express train pass by while I kick back and enjoy myself in one of my favorite spots.
