This Day in Disney History- October 26
Welcome back to our continuing trip through the history of The Walt Disney Company. Today we are looking at the events on this day in Disney history- October 26.
October 26th was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the release of a Donald Duck cartoon, the debut of a new show at the Magic Kingdom, and a special Halloween event at Disneyland. So, let’s get started!
Three Orphan Kittens Released (1935)
On this day in 1935, the Silly Symphony cartoon Three Orphan Kittens was released.
In the cartoon, a trio of stray cats seek refuge from a snowstorm in a house where they proceed to wreak havoc.
Cured Duck Released (1945)
On this day in 1945, Cured Duck was released.
In the cartoon, Daisy refuses to let Donald leave the house until he learns to control his temper.
Disney Villain Enchanted Evening Held (2000)
On this day in 2000, Disney Villain Diva’s Enchanted Evening Featuring The Disney Divas was held at Disneyland.
The special event was limited to 500 guests who were treated to a beverage reception, dinner, and the opportunity to purchase limited edition Villains merchandise.
Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee Premieres (2009)
On this day in 2009, Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee premiered at Magic Kingdom.
The limited-engagement show took place aboard the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square Riverboat.
Animal Kindom Celebrates the Year of the Bat.
Finally, on this day in 2011, Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrated the Year of the Bat.
To mark the occasion, family-friend bat activities were held at the Conservation Station.
