Hugh Jackman Talks Donning Wolverine’s Iconic Yellow Suit and Exploring Other Sides of Logan
After 17 years of playing Wolverine, it looked like Hugh Jackman’s time as the iconic mutant had finally come to an end with 2017’s Logan.
The film was an emotional send-off to not only one of the great comic book characters but one of the great superhero performances in cinema history. Jackman was seemingly content to hang up his claws, and Logan’s story was at an end.

Then Ryan Reynolds came calling.
Now, 24 years after he first portrayed Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men, Hugh Jackman will reprise his iconic role in Deadpool & Wolverine.
This time around, Jackman will not only be teaming up with the Merc with the Mouth, but he will also officially enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). For longtime fans, it is a dream come true.

“We almost did it in ‘The Wolverine,’” Jackman says. “But from the moment I put it on here, I was like, ‘How did we never do this?’ It looked so right, it felt so right. I was like, ‘That’s him.’ There are different sides of Wolverine we haven’t seen before in the movies. It was exciting for me.”

Playing the Foil
According to the actor, his return also gave him a chance to play foil to another star in a way that he had previously been unable to.
