Boat Options Apparently Returning to A Few Disney World Hotels
The Disney World hotels have a lot of different transportation options to and from the theme parks. You can take buses, boats, the Monorail, the Skyliner, or even a walking path.
The transportation options totally depend on which resort you’re staying at, and they can temporarily change depending on things like weather. But now, a more permanent transportation change is apparently coming to a few Disney World hotels.
Disney World Hotel Boats Returning
According to an announcement from Disney on Facebook, the boat between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be returning on October 1st.
This is the “blue route,” AKA the boats with a blue flag. The boats should be returning for afternoon and evening voyages.
The announcement was made on the Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page. However, when we asked a Disney Cast Member directly through the online chat feature, we got a different answer.
The Cast Member told us, “At this time that boat route is not operating with no estimated time frame of when it will return.” They went on to say, “Nothing has officially been stated at this time.”
We went on to ask about the announcement we saw on the Facebook page and this is the response we received:
Also note that Disney’s Contemporary Resort is not even listed as having boat transportation as an option on Disney World’s website. It could just be that Disney needs to update the website.
However, both Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness have the blue boat routes listed and shown on the map and website. Here’s where it is at Wilderness Lodge…
…and here’s where it is at Fort Wilderness.
So, take this announcement with a grain of salt. We’ll keep an eye out for any other statements or updates from Disney.
If this is true, it will make it a lot easier to move between these resorts to try out their different restaurants or explore the activities offered at each resort.
Stay tuned for more Disney World news and updates!
