Upcoming NFL Game to be Broadcast from Inside the ‘Toy Story’ Universe
Do I have some amazing news to share this evening! It has just been announced that two of my favorite things – Disney and the NFL – combine forces to give us fans an unforgettable game-watching experience inspired by the hit Disney-Pixar film Toy Story!
On October 1, 2023, fans can catch the Atlanta Falcons take on the Jacksonville Jaguars – live from London – with a special “Toy Story Funday Football” feed on ESPN+, Disney+, and NFL+.

Per SportsBusinessJournal.com, “Andy’s room from ‘Toy Story’ will replicate on-field gameplay from Falcons-Jags, and each player has an animated representation. NFL Next Gen States will power tracking alongside tech from Beyond Sports, Pixar, ESPN’s Edge Innovation Center, Disney, the NFL, and Silver Spoon.”
In addition, the announcers, graphics, scoreboard, penalties, and celebrations will feature a “Toy Story” theme. Guests can also expect to see cameos from the stars of the film, including Buzz Lightyear and Woody, among others.

The booth calling the game will also be animated and will feature Drew Carter on the play-by-play and Booger McFarland as an analyst. Both commentators will be joined by 12-year-old sports reporter Pepper Persley.
This isn’t the first time Disney/ESPN has teamed with a professional sports league to create Disney magic during a telecast. Back in the Spring, fans were treated to an NHL game featuring the Capitals and the Rangers with a Big City Greens overlay, including the NHL players represented as 3D animated cartoon characters from the hit Disney Channel show.

For those watching to catch the traditional broadcast of the Falcons-Jags on October 1, 2023, it will air exclusively on ESPN+ and over-the-air broadcast TV in local markets.
The NFL x “Toy Story” telecast will kick off at 9:30 am EST on October 1, 2023. It will be available for replay shortly after the game ends for a limited time.
