This Day in Disney History- August 20

August 20th was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the release of the final original Disney Oswald cartoon, the closure of a Disney California Adventure attraction, and the end of a DCA parade. So, let’s get started!
Hot Dog Released (1928)
On this day in 1928, the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit short Hot Dog was released.
The cartoon was the final Oswald short produced by Disney until 2023.
Trader Mickey Released (1932)
On this day in 1932, the Mickey Mouse cartoon Trader Mickey was released.
In the cartoon, Mickey and Pluto are taking musical instruments along the African coast when they are captured by cannibals.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire- Play It! Closes (2004)
On this day in 2004, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire- Play It! closed in Disney California Adventure.
The attraction, which was modified version of the popular game show, had been open since 2001.
The Switch Released (2010)
On this day in 2010, The Switch was released.
The film would the final Miramax film distributed by Disney before the company was sold to Filmyard Holdings.
The Main Street Electrical Parade Ends Another Disneyland Run (2017)
On this day in 2017, Disneyland’s revived Main Street Electrical Parade ran for the final time.
The parade would return again in 2019 and 2022.
The Pixar Play Parade Ends (2017)
Finally, also on this day in 2017, the Pixar Play Parade ran for the final time at Disney California Adventure.
The parade had debuted in the park on January 4, 2011.
