REVIEW: We Ate Hot Soup in July Because It’s Just That Good
What’s up, folks? Are we enjoying the start of the beautiful EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival 2023?
Here at MickeyBlog we sure are, and we’re thrilled to have you join us as we explore the food and festivities all around the spectacular World Showcase!
The next stop on our travels is the Canada marketplace booth. This cute hut is located in — you guessed it — the Canada pavilion!

Canada Booth
Now, one of the age-old debates at Walt Disney World actually centers around this spot and has been quite the topic of discussion over on Disney social media recently.
When you visit EPCOT, do you start at the Canada pavilion to walk around the World Showcase, or do you begin the loop at Mexico instead? Turns out, it’s quite a divisive subject, but be sure to let us know your thoughts!

Anyway, although we love a good EPCOT-inspired debate, it’s the food we’d rather sink our teeth into today! So, let’s check out this awesome booth’s menu, and see what’s on offer for the festival!

Canada Spread
The Canada booth was first introduced to the festival in 1996 and has become a firm favorite among fans thanks to its simple yet spectacular dishes, returning year after year. Our MickeyBlogger Jared stopped by today, placed his order, and has reported back to let us know his thoughts on the offerings.
Keep reading, and we’ll see what he got!

Canadian Cheddar & Bacon Soup
First up, the iconic dish on the menu here is the Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup, served with a pretzel roll, which costs $5.75.

Canadian Cheddar & Bacon Soup
This soup is a firm favorite here at MickeyBlog, and Jared agreed that today’s portion was as good as ever. Even though it’s warm out, Jared said this cozy, cheesy goodness is certain to be a hit with everyone. A must-try at the festival, for sure!

It’s also worth noting that this infamous soup is actually part of Emile’s Fromage Montage Cheese Tour this year, a dreamy guide that’ll help guests sample the cheesiest dishes in the 2023 festival line-up.
You can read more about the experience here, and be sure to get your festival guidebook stamped when you place your order!
But, we aren’t stopping there. Also on the menu is a Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon, served drizzled with delectable truffle-butter sauce, for $9.25.
This particular dish is inspired by the infamous menu over at Le Cellier restaurant in the Canada pavilion – a must-visit for foodie fans!

Canadian Filet Mignon
Just like with the soup, Jared confirmed this delectable dish was as good as ever. Tender, flavorsome, and hearty – this filet would make the most perfect lunchtime treat for any meat lovers touring the World Showcase!

Moving onto the drinks (it’s a Food and Wine Festival, after all), as there are two alcoholic sips to sample here in Canada.
First up is the Chateau des Charmes, a Cabernet-Merlot Estate for $7. There’s also the Collective Arts Audio/Visual Lager from Hamilton, Ontario, to try for $5. Jared didn’t go for any of these today, but you can read up on the drinks we did try over on MickeyBlog.com throughout the rest of the day!

If you’re a huge Canada fan yourself, we’d also certainly recommend you head on over to Northwest Mercantile on your next tour around the World Showcase. Nestled deep within the spectacular Canada pavilion, this cute hut recently received stock of some adorable outdoorsy merchandise inspired by the beautiful country. Take a look here, and be sure to check it out on your next visit!
