Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Lights Crop Up at Magic Kingdom
Our countdown to spooky season just got a whole lot brighter, as fresh preparations for the upcoming Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties have cropped up overnight at the Magic Kingdom!
Yep, it may be a sunny summertime Wednesday over here in the Magic Kingdom, but it’s the first signs of Halloween illumination that’s on our minds.
Upon arriving in Frontierland this morning, our reporters noticed that tall pillars of temporary lighting had been installed in various places around the area, ready to provide cool, atmospheric eeriness for the upcoming party events.
Anyone who holds the Walt Disney World Halloween festivities in as high regard as we do will agree that the arrival of these lights signals a great step forward in our exciting countdown to the season.
After all, with the first Halloween Party scheduled for August 11, it shouldn’t be too long before we start seeing pumpkins cropping up on Main Street, U.S.A!
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla counted six tall light fixtures like this in Frontierland this morning, dotted up and down the path that curves through the area.
While these are tall structures, we’re pleased to report that they don’t detract too much from the zone’s general aesthetic, especially with the lower part of the towers cleverly designed to resemble unassuming stacked cargo boxes.
As Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties run deep into the night, this lighting will be used to floodlight the pathways in cool, creepy colors, adding to the fun party vibe immensely.
So far, it’s only been Frontierland in which we’ve spotted lights, but can expect them to appear throughout the neighboring Adventureland and on top of show buildings soon, too.
As you can see from our photos, and indeed if you’ve visited the Magic Kingdom in recent months you’ll know, that a large portion of the land’s skyline is currently dominated by scaffolding as the construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure presses on.
Kayla intuitively pointed out that, in previous years, a temporary lighting post is also usually installed within the gates of the former Splash Mountain attraction. With all this ongoing construction, we’re unsure whether this will be the case again for the 2023 parties.
It’s unbelievable to think that the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for Halloween night has already sold out, so we’d certainly be urging guests who haven’t secured their tickets to other dates to do so soon so as not to miss out.
Of course, your MickeyBloggers will be providing all the news, updates, and more from the parties, including peeks at all the exclusive merchandise, snacks, and more on offer. It’s an exciting time at the Magic Kingdom, and we can’t wait to have you all enjoy it with us!
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the park as further preparations go underway, so make sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog and our social channels for all the latest updates.
Like we say, first come the structural and technical elements, then all the beautiful, autumnal decorations will start to follow!
