Shanghai Disney Resort Celebrates 100 Wishes Granted With Benefit Concert
It has only been a few years since Shanghai Disney Resort granted its first wish when seven-year-old Youanbao met Olaf from “Frozen”. Now, the resort is happy to announce that it has officially granted over 100 Disney Wishes!
In celebration of this milestone, and in anticipation of the next 100 wishes, Shanghai Disney Resort put on a concert to benefit Make-A-Wish-Shanghai.
Wishing Star Charity Concert
With the help of the resort, the Shanghai International Youth Orchestra and Make-A-Wish-Shanghai held the first “Wishing Star Charity Concert” at the Walt Disney Grand Theater in Disneytown.
Disney characters and dancers greeted nearly 1,000 guests including wish families, partners, and guests.
President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort Joe Schott, Vice President of Government Affairs and Community Relations at Shanghai Disney Resort, and Chairman of Make-A-Wish Shanghai kicked off the event with speeches.
A Magical Evening
CEO of Make-A-Wish Shanghai, Elynn Wang, then presented a trophy and certificate to Shanghai Disney Resort in recognition of the occasion.
Finally, musicians from the Shanghai International Youth Orchestra performed classic songs from Disney and Pixar films such as “The Lion King”, “Coco” and “Mulan”.
Even the Genie from Aladdin showed up, what a great event!
