Disney And Make-A-Wish Put The Spotlight On Jarvis
In the past 40 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to make more than 150,000 wishes come true.
These fairy tale experiences have provided joy and hope for all kinds of children facing critical illnesses.
Continuing their wish-making tradition, Hong Kong Disneyland granted the “unbeatable” wish of 10-year-old Jarvis, who got to showcase his skills on the drum kit.
A Long Hard Journey
Jarvis was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome in 2019. For the next five years, he was unable to attend school or do regular activities during treatment.
He did, however, discover a love of music, and started playing drums. The instrument became a source of joy and comfort for him.
Happily, Jarvis received a bone marrow transplant and has now recovered. His wish is to share his passion for music with others and give thanks to those who supported him on his road to recovery.
A Concert Of Thanks
During Make-A-Wish- Hong Kong’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Party, Jarvis took the stage to perform a twenty-minute concert.
During his performance, Jarvis sang a Chinese song called “Good Health” to thank everyone for taking care of him. As the crowd went wild, Genie from Aladdin appeared to grant Jarvis a wish and congratulate him on his performance.
Jarvis also wanted to take the time to thank all those who supported him during those tough times.
“I especially want to thank my beloved grandmother, whose love and care have given me strength and hope,” he said. “I hope that my performance can inspire other wish children facing similar challenges to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams.”
