Update on the Splash Mountain Construction in Disney World
Changes are made in the Disney Parks pretty regularly. There are little things that happen, like sign changes, as well as big things, like full transformations of spaces.
One of the things getting a very big change right now is Splash Mountain over in Magic Kingdom. The ride is being changed into one themed to The Princess and the Frog!
Splash Mountain shut down at the beginning of this year in Disney World to begin its transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We’ve been keeping an eye on construction, and we have another update for ya!
Splash Mountain Construction Update
Here’s a look at what’s going on at Splash Mountain right now.
There is a bunch of scaffolding up in front of the ride, and all of that is behind some pretty big construction walls.
We actually noticed today and yesterday that some painting was being done on the exposed areas of the ride that have been changed.
We saw people working down in the canal where the flumes would come after going down the big hill.
There were also people painting up in the scaffolding on the mountain.
Here’s another look:
We also learned a few weeks ago that the water tower would be coming soon to the ride, so we’ll continue to keep an eye out for that!

This seems to look like the general vicinity of where it could go.
The water has been drained from the attraction for a while now. There’s actually some scaffolding you can see back in the canals.
Remember, the ride isn’t supposed to reopen as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure until the end of 2024. We’ve seen a decent amount of concept artwork for the ride so far.
