Walt Disney World Annual Passes Can Now Be Upgraded Online
While those of us hoping to purchase new Walt Disney World Annual Passes are suffering through long lines and technical difficulties, some good news has managed to shine through the clouds.
Disney has updated its online ticketing system and now allows existing Passholders the ability to upgrade their Walt Disney World Annual Passes online.
How It Works
In order to upgrade your Annual Pass, you need to open your My Disney Experience app and select the new ‘Upgrade Pass’ button in the ticketing section.
If you are attempting to upgrade on the Walt Disney World Website, you will need to visit the ‘Manage Annual Passes’ page.
According to Disney:
“Existing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders have the option to upgrade their Annual Pass into any available pass type outside of their renewal window on our website or via the My Disney Experience app. The difference in price must be paid in full at the time of the upgrade and the new pass will have the same expiration date as the original pass.”
In addition to being able to upgrade their pass type, Passholders can now also add PhotoPass and Water Park options to their passes.
Limited Time Magic?
Disney resumed new sales of Walt Disney World Annual Passes this morning but has warned that availability is not unlimited.
If and when Disney ceases to offer new passes, the ability to upgrade may also be suspended.
