Errors Plague Walt Disney World Annual Pass Sales — Disney Releases Statement
Just when things seemed to finally be running smoothly for those of us trying to purchase Walt Disney World Annual Passes, disaster struck.
At approximately 8:00AM ET, guests began reporting errors when trying to check out with their new Disney Annual Passes.
“Recalculating”
This was followed by increased wait times for those of us in the queue. I, for example, saw my wait time jump from 13 minutes back to “just over an hour.”
A few minutes later, the approximate wait time bar read simply “Recalculating” for those of us in the queue. Here is what the bar previously looked like.
Following widespread error reports, Disney issued a statement as of 8:28AM: “Pardon the Inconvenience. Annual Pass sales will resume as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience and understanding.”
This message was added to the queue screen for guests waiting in line.
Speculation is running rampant that Disney’s servers may have crashed, halting the new Annual Pass sales. Disney however, has not confirmed what the hold-up is.
A Rough Start
The day started off on a sour note. After Disney announced that Annual Pass sales would begin “no earlier than 6AM ET,” many fans got up early expecting to be able to purchase passes right at 6.
Sales did not begin for another 47 minutes, however, leaving many fans exasperated, and a little cranky.
As always, continue to check back in with MickeyBlog. We will continue to update you on the sale of Walt Disney World Annual Passes. I, for one, will be stuck in this perpetual queue.
