We Tried Sausage and Gravy Tots For Breakfast at Magic Kingdom!
Whenever I visit Magic Kingdom, I’ll always make sure to arrive well in time the second the park opens. Are any other “rope droppers” out there? It’s the best way to do it, in my opinion!
Thankfully, for me and my fellow early birds, the Magic Kingdom has a fantastic array of options available when it comes to on-the-go breakfast goods. Yes, there are sweet treats such as those giant Cinnamon Rolls from Gaston’s Tavern, or the unmissable Cheshire Cat Tail pastry from Cheshire Café.
However, where would you go if you’re in the mood for something more savory? Well, a returning menu item has just appeared over in Fantasyland, so let’s frolic on over to check it out!
This morning, we’re starting our day over at The Friar’s Nook, which is situated just nearby to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. A great spot if that cute attraction has left you “in the mood for food”!
The Friar’s Nook is a cute, window-service location, with a small area for outdoor seating in its bustling Fantasyland location. There’s rarely a long wait here, but Mobile Order is also available if you’re in a hurry.
Today, our MickeyBlogger Ed visited the café to order the returning Sausage and Gravy Tots. One of three breakfast items available at this location, these tots are one of a few good, savory breakfast options for when you’re looking for a morning snack at the Magic Kingdom.
Now, okay. They may not look the most appealing. It’s basically a hefty, side-portion-sized pile of tater tots, drizzled with lashings of sausage gravy. However, believe us when we say that this breakfast is definitely one to hit the spot, as our MickeyBlogger Ed assured us it was quite tasty!
Perhaps the best thing about this dish is its simplicity — it doesn’t try to be anything fancy. Simple sausage gravy? Check. Fried tots? Can’t go wrong!
Ed told us that the tots were served piping hot and super crispy as they should be. The gravy was plentiful, and full of flavor. All in all, we’d certainly recommend this dish, and will be ordering it again!
This quick breakfast costs $5.79 from The Friar’s Nook, which also serves a breakfast sandwich option and donuts on their breakfast menu, which ceases at 11am.
Will you be heading to this handy dining location on your next early-morning Magic Kingdom visit? Or do you have another favorite breakfast spot you’d recommend instead? Let us know in the comments!
