TRON Merchandise Coming to shopDisney
TRON Lightcycle / Run is about to have its grand opening in Disney World! We’ve been waiting for the Magic Kingdom ride for years, and the time is almost here.

TRON will officially open on April 4th, but it has been having a soft opening for a while now. There have also been previews for Annual Passholders and Cast Members.

There are a lot of celebrations for the new ride, including new merchandise! We got a sneak peek of it the other day, but now it looks like it’s going to be online too!

A TRON opening day collection is coming soon to shopDisney!

We found this on shopDisney’s website, and it seems to be the backpack that we saw in the original first look at merchandise that Disney released a couple weeks ago.

The backpack is modeled after old video game cabinets that you would see in the 80s! This is part of the “Back to the Arcade” merchandise collection.
We’ve actually already seen this backpack in person over at Launch Depot in Magic Kingdom, but it sounds like it’s coming to shopDisney soon!
Other items in this collection includes illuminated wall signs and a tumbler that has vintage Lightcycles that race around its domed top.

We found out about a lot of TRON merchandise coming to the parks, but we’re not sure about which pieces will be available online! We would assume the backpack will be available at least though, since Disney is using it to advertise the online collection.
The other two merchandise collections we could see include the “Thrill of the Race” collection. This collection will have racing-inspired items, like a light-up replica of Sam Flynn’s helmet from TRON: Legacy and also a decorative helmet bag to carry it around.

The third collection we know about is called “Life on the Grid,” which is inspired by the “clean design language of this digital world,” according to Disney. You’ll be able to find light-up jackets as well as a backpack that can hold a new interactive Identity Disc that doubles as speaker.
We’ll let you know when we see any of these new items online, but we’d expect you can find them closer to the grand opening of the ride, which will be on April 4th. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
