TRON Soft Opening Hours Extended
We’ve been waiting for TRON Lightcycle / Run to be completed for years, and it’s finally done! But, that doesn’t mean it’s officially open.

The ride has been holding previews for several weeks now for people like Cast Members and Annual Passholders. Its official opening will be on April 4th, but there is still a way for you to ride it!
The ride is having a soft opening right now. And, the hours for this soft opening have changed!
TRON Soft Opening
TRON began its soft opening on Monday, March 20th. This means the ride will operate on more limited hours than the rest of Magic Kingdom.
And, the hours for TRON’s soft opening have been extended for today! The ride is running from 9AM to 7:30PM according to the My Disney Experience app.

Before now, the soft opening was happening from 9AM to 6PM. Disney has not said why the hours have been extended, but it will hopefully help more people get on the ride!

Since hours were expanded, this might mean that there is more space in the virtual queues and more Individual Lightning Lanes available. But, we can’t know that for sure.
How to Ride TRON
If you would like to ride TRON during its soft opening period, there are two ways that you can do it. Let’s break them down!

To get on TRON, you either have to join the virtual queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane. The virtual queue works similarly to how it works for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind over in EPCOT.
Using your My Disney Experience app, you can join the virtual queue at either 7AM or 1PM. But, for the 7AM drop you have to have a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom and for the 1PM drop you have to be physically inside Magic Kingdom.

These virtual queues fill up in a matter of seconds, so you have to be prepared to join. You can also only join one per day, so if you get into the queue at 7AM, you can’t try again at 1PM (but if you don’t get it at 7AM, definitely try for the 1PM!).
If you’re unable to snag a spot in the virtual queue, you can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for TRON. This will give you access to the Lightning Lane of the ride (which is similar to former FastPass lanes).

The first day of TRON’s soft opening, Individual Lightning Lanes were $20 per person. Keep in mind that this price can fluctuate depending on the day.
