Sneak Peek at New TRON Merchandise
TRON Lightcycle / Run will finally officially open soon in Walt Disney World! The ride is scheduled for its grand opening on April 4th.

Previews for the ride have been ongoing, and we even saw the ride added to the My Disney Experience app map. But now, we have even more exciting news about TRON — Disney has revealed some new merchandise for the ride!
TRON Merchandise
There will be three new merchandise collections for TRON when it officially opens. Disney describes them as having “a dash of 1980s nostalgia mixed with incredibly fun items that continue the thrills of this new Tomorrowland attraction at home.”

The first collection is called “Back to the Arcade,” which is themed to the early 1980s arcade scene with nods to Flynn’s Arcade from the original TRON film. You can see a sneak peek at the backpack that look like video game cabinets, wall signs that light up, and even a tumbler that has vintage Lightcycles racing around the top!

Next, the “Thrill of the Race” collection features racing-inspired items. There’s a light-up replica of Sam Flynn’s helmet from TRON: Legacy and also a decorative helmet bag to carry it around.

If you want to take that racing vibe home with you, you can get some TRON Lightcycle Handlebars. The interactive toy has lights and sound effects from TRON and can be used as a game for up to 4 people.
The third collection is “Life on the Grid” which is inspired by the “clean design language of this digital world,” according to Disney. You’ll be able to check out light-up jackets as well as a backpack that can hold a new interactive Identity Disc that doubles as speaker.

So, where will all of this fun new merchandise be located? When TRON opens on April 4th, you can find these items in a pop-up shop area right across from the entrance to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor in Tomorrowland (we’re guessing it’s when Stitch’s Great Escape! used to be located).
TRON Identity Program
But wait, there’s more! Also a part of the new merchandise collection is the TRON Identity Program. This is an all-new retail experience offering you a customizable “Program” action figure and identity chip that you can use to “re-program” other merchandise like those Identity Discs!

The TRON Identity Program will be located in Tomorrowland Launch Depot, which is the new name for Tomorrowland Light and Power Co. (the story beterrn TRON and Space Mountain). You can make reservations for this new interactive experience beginning March 21st on Disney World’s website.
