We’re another step closer to the highly-anticipated opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run at the Magic Kingdom, as the attraction’s Virtual Queue option has been added to the My Disney Experience app!

That’s right, My Disney Experience has officially “entered the grid,” with a page in the app now dedicated to helping guests secure that all-important virtual queue space. We’ve known that the attraction will be operating with a virtual queue system for a while now, with Disney releasing all the need-to-know details last week. If you haven’t studied up yet, you can read all our notes here.
Now, the arrival of the TRON virtual queue page on the app lets us know that we’re inching closer and closer to the grand opening date of April 4th, and the excitement is palpable!
If you’re hoping to ride this attraction when it opens to guests, we’d definitely recommend familiarizing yourself with this page in the My Disney Experience app, ready to click away once that reservation window opens!
If you don’t have the app to hand, our MickeyBloggers took a handy screenshot of what it looks like:
As you can see, the TRON queue option is listed under a Magic Kingdom tab on the page, with EPCOT being visible as another possible park for reservations.
Clicking on that park would, of course, bring up details for securing a virtual queue space for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster, which has been using a virtual queue system since it opened to guests last summer. You can read more about how the system is working for that attraction, here.
Another thing worth noting is that the app is currently showing details for the “Soft Open” launch of TRON, which is set to take place between March 20th and April 2nd. Between these dates, guests hoping to secure a virtual queue reservation should log in to this page on the app at 7am or 1pm to get that space! Of course, valid park admission is still required to enjoy the ride, and availability will be limited.
Once the ride “officially” opens on April 4th, this system will continue in the same way on the app.
It was only this week that TRON Lightcycle / Run appeared on the My Disney Experience app map, so it feels like the attraction’s progress is speeding towards us as quickly as the ride’s bikes themselves.
We got our first look at the attraction’s must-have merchandise releases this week, too, as well as the awesome PhotoPass lenses, and TRON Identity Program information as well!
As always, be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com as we count down to the opening date of this highly-anticipated Magic Kingdom attraction. We absolutely can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this epic ride, and to “enter the grid” at the official launch!
