Space Mountain Still Sporting Scaffolding in Magic Kingdom
Earlier in the week, we reported that Space Mountain was receiving something of a facelift over in the Magic Kingdom, with an unusual stack of scaffolding marring the Tomorrowland skyline atop the attraction’s iconic peaks.
Today, our MickeyBlog reporters were back at Magic Kingdom and made sure to swing by the ride to see how work was getting on. A peek at the progress of the peaks, if you will!
Lo and behold, as you can see from the photos below, that protruding scaffolding tower is very much still there, sticking out from the top of the white building in an almost amusing fashion…
Although we can’t say for sure what work is actually being done to Space Mountain, it’s worth noting that the efforts aren’t affecting the attraction itself, with the ride still operating as usual for guests today.
The only issue here is a teeny bit of a dampener on the Tomorrowland aesthetic, so it’s worth noting the views of that retro-futuristic skyline are the reason you’re planning on traveling to the Magic Kingdom in the coming days!
Although, to be honest, when you look at the building from a distance, the scaffolding isn’t immediately noticeable by any means.
Besides, with all the focus and attention currently focused on the neighboring TRON attraction, it’s nice to see Space Mountain is still getting some love and attention over in this corner of Magic Kingdom!
As always, be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com as we keep an eye on all the current construction over in Tomorrowland. At the moment, this includes not only the Space Mountain work, but also the progress as TRON speeds towards its grand opening day, and the ongoing refurbishment of the Tomorrowland Light & Power store.
Talk about a “great big beautiful tomorrow,” with so much work going on, the land will be as shining and fresh as ever in no time!
