4 Minutes or 60 Seconds? Find Out How Long Disney’s TRON Experience Actually Lasts
TRON Lightcycle / Run is Disney World’s newest ride, and it opens very soon!
Located in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, TRON opens to the public on April 4th, 2023, although certain people have been able to get early previews of the ride. We’ve seen lots of questions about things like the ride vehicles and the length of the ride, and now we have some details to share!
D23 Magazine Spring 2023
In the most recent issue of Disney Twenty-Three magazine, TRON Lightcycle / Run is front and center, pictured on the front cover and inside in a lengthy article covering the development of the new attraction.
While we’ve already shown you the whole ride and gone over the locker storage system, the ride vehicles, and more, we haven’t really discussed the duration of the ride. We’ve seen a number of people complain that TRON is too short, but exactly how long does the ride last?
According to Disney, the duration of TRON is “just under 4 minutes from Sync Chamber to completion,” which covers the loading area (aka where guests board vehicles) to deboarding.
However, if you time the ride experience itself from launch to deceleration, it comes in just under 60 seconds. You can watch the full ride experience in our video below.
So how does TRON compare to other rides? Well, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is timed at around 1 minute 22 seconds, while Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT comes out around 3 minutes.
Essentially, the TRON ride experience is on the shorter side of the attraction spectrum, so just know in advance that you aren’t really getting a lengthy roller coaster ride.
