Contemporary Resort’s Gingerbread House Celebrates Grand Opening Tomorrow!
Yesterday, Mickey Blog reported that Mickey and Minnie were added to one of Walt Disney World‘s life size sweet treats. The Contemporary Resort’s Gingerbread House celebrates its grand opening tomorrow!

As I shared yesterday, this is my favorite Gingerbread House! Featuring Cinderella Castle, and the iconic “it’s a small world” ride, it truly is a magical Disney creation!
Don’t you just love the vibrant contrast of colors?! Rich tones of blue and brown adorn the castle, while “it’s a small world” stands out in bright white.
Lights added along the top make the display glow with enchantment. Cartoon trees look like those seen in some of our favorite, classic animated films!
Grand Opening
Disney Cast Members are putting the final touches on the stunning piece of art! Although its nearing completion, decorations still need to be added to trees, and glistening snow must be added to the platform.
Planning starts in the summertime when staff begins making the dough. Total assembly takes about a week and a half.
Tomorrow, the Contemporary Resort will celebrate its grand opening at 11 a.m. The whole baking crew will be on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Gingerbread cookies will be sold for Guests to enjoy as they admire the holiday display. Options include Mickey, Minnie, or tree-shaped treats.
This marks the first time the hotel has featured a gingerbread house, since 2019. This year’s version is the 11th built by the Contemporary.
Meet Two of the Bakers!
Mickey Blog is at Walt Disney World today and got to meet two of the bakers who have been working on the project!
They work alongside 30-40 additional bakers to bring the gingerbread house to life.
