Niagara Falls Lights Up TONIGHT To Celebrate ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’
Yesterday, 20th Century Studios released a new trailer for a highly anticipated sequel hitting theaters next month. Tonight, in a special event, Niagara Falls lights up to celebrate Avatar: The Way of Water!

The original, Avatar was released in 2009. Directed by James Cameron, the epic sci-fi film was unlike anything fans had ever seen before.

Visually stunning and incredibly imaginative, it broke box office records. When adjusted for inflation, Avatar is currently the second-highest-grossing movie of all time after Gone with the Wind, bringing in a total of more than $3 billion.
The film follows a paraplegic Marine, Jake Sully, who is sent to the moon of Pandora on a mission that changes his life. After being introduced to a whole new world, he becomes torn between following orders and protecting his new home.

Avatar: The Way of Water
The sequel picks up with Sully living among his newfound family on Pandora. He unites with the Na’vi, Pandora’s inhabitants, to protect their planet from a familiar threat.

Niagara Falls Lights Up
In celebration of the new trailer released yesterday, 20th Century posted a tweet, advertising an exciting event. James Cameron describes that they will share some of the film’s footage, with Niagara Falls as its epic backdrop.

Cameron actually grew up in Niagara Falls, and is excited to see the footage debut in his hometown for the first time ever! Avatar: The Way of Water arrives in theaters on December 16.

In addition to news of the event at Niagara Falls, D23 just announced that the winter issue of Disney twenty-three will take readers back to Pandora. The publication will journey behind the scenes with the cast, which includes Sam Worthington (Jake), Zoe Saldaña (Neytiri), and Sigourney Weaver.
