Framing Complete for Iconic Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Lots of progress has been made on the iconic Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa just within the past 12 hours!
When we stopped by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa just last night around 10:30 pm, we noticed that prep work was underway to bring the Gingerbread House to life for the 2022 holiday season.
When we went back just a little earlier today, we were shocked to see all the progress that was made overnight including the entire frame of the house being installed.
Workers were still onsite putting the finishing touches on the frame but I don’t think it will be too much longer before that sweet-smelling gingerbread is also installed.
Bringing the seasonal Gingerbread House to life at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is truly a labor of love. Prep work on the house actually starts well before the holiday season even begins with several Cast Member teams, including the culinary team, working around the clock to create this larger-than-life creation.
Once complete, Guests will be able to visit Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see the Gingerbread House firsthand and purchase some tasty treats of their own to take home.
While construction is well underway for the 2022 holiday season, it’s going to be a tad bit longer until it officially opens. An opening date has not been confirmed as of yet, but it is usually ready for Guests to visit before mid-November. And, just looking at today’s progress, I imagine it will be open in about a week or 10 days.
