Best Ways to Bring Disney Halloween Magic Home!
Fall may have been off-season at Walt Disney World “back in the day”, but now it’s one of the most popular times to visit. Temperatures are cooler, but the real draw is Halloween.
Move over Christmas. Halloween rises in popularity in the United States every year and Disney is no exception.
Dozens of carved jack-o-lanterns cover Main Street U.S.A. Pumpkin-flavored and spooky-themed snacks can be found on several menus.
Most notably, thousands of guests attend the hard-ticket event, Mickeys-Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. After a two-year hiatus, the party is back and shockingly, totally sold out.

While the party is amazing, attending MNSSHP isn’t the only way to bring Disney magic to this season. Check out our favorite tips for celebrating a “Disneyfied” Halloween.
Even Oogie Boogie might approve of these plans.
Enjoy Spooky Soundtracks
Nothing sets the tone quite like music, right? Whether you’re putting together a playlist for trick-or-treaters or playing ambient music at home, there are plenty of Disney Halloween tunes.
For example, the entire The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) soundtrack features plenty of gems like This is Halloween, Oogie Boogie’s Song, and Sally’s Song.
If theme park music is your jam, the soundtrack for the Mickey’s Boo-to-You parade is an earworm. Also, the music played inside The Haunted Mansion attraction is an eerie delight
Finally, no Halloween soundtrack is complete without I Put a Spell on You (sung by the legendary Bette Midler). You will surely dance, dance, dance until you die!
Watch Halloween Movies
Not all Halloween movies feature gore. The Disney library has many family-friendly movies that are perfect for us scaredy cats.
If you want a flick that oozes creepy, but mostly harmless fun, check out the following movies:

- The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
- Halloweentown (1998)
- Hocus Pocus (1993)
- Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
- Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire (2000)
- Muppet’s Haunted Mansion (2021)
- Tower of Terror (1997)
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1949)

Most of these movies can be found on Disney+ which makes for a convenient family movie night. Grab your popcorn and settle in for a night that is more silly than spooky.
Decorate with Disney Décor
Thanks to the rising popularity of both The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus, Disney Halloween décor is everywhere! From big-box stores to official Disney merchandise to Etsy shops selling handmade items, there are plenty of decorations to choose from.
From lawn ornaments to ceramic collectibles, you can build up a spooktacular collection. Consider this adorable Zero yard inflatable from Walmart or these wooden Mickey pumpkin signs from Amazon.
The sky is truly the limit when it comes to showing your Disney Halloween side at home.
Whether you carve a pumpkin with a Disney design or transform your front yard into a Haunted Mansion graveyard, there is room for inspiration.
Wear a Disney Halloween Costume
Just because you aren’t an Orlando local, it doesn’t mean you can’t pick out a Disney Halloween costume! Whether you need an ensemble for an out-of-state visit to MNSSHP or your family’s get-together, you have an opportunity to display your fandom proudly.
And the internet is a gold mine of ideas.
If you’re a purist, you can buy gorgeous, handmade costumes from a cosplay site. If you’re thriftier, you can find ideas for costumes pieced together with everyday items.
