While performing on “Good Morning America” this morning, “Dear Evan Hansen” star Jordan Fisher confirmed that he will be back on stage with the Broadway company when the show opens on June 11th.
Finding his Way Back to Broadway
Fisher joined the Broadway cast of the coming-of-age Tony Award winning show on March 2, 2020. Unfortunately, Broadway closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic just 10 days later. His appearance this morning with an ensemble featured “You Will be Found,” the anthem of the show.
“Dear Evan Hansen” returns to the Music Box Theatre next week. Though the rest of the cast is not confirmed yet, Fisher’s return to Broadway as the blue polo-wearing lead was much anticipated.
Fisher made his Broadway debut in November 2016 as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in the blockbuster musical theatre revolution, “Hamilton.”
Other Places to Find Fisher
Prior to joining the cast of “Dear Evan Hansen” last year, Fisher made appearances as Marc Cohen in “Rent: Live” and Frenchy’s boyfriend Doody in “Grease: Live” both on Fox.
Fisher started his career as a star in many Disney Channel series, including “Liv and Maddie” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
He also starred in the “Teen Beach Movie” franchise, which premiered in 2013. The franchise hoped to continue on the channel’s enormous success with made-for-television movies that began with the “High School Musical” franchise.
In 2017, Fisher used those decades of performing and dancing skills to take home the 25th Mirror Ball trophy. He won his season of “Dancing with Stars” alongside partner Lindsay Arnold.
The penultimate Disney Channel star, Fisher visited the Walt Disney World resort on November 21, 2020 to marry Ellie Woods. The ceremony was straight from a fairytale in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.
