Fort Wilderness Campers Parked at TTC to Brace for Hurricane Ian
Wonder where the campers from Fort Wilderness have gone during Hurricane Ian? The campers are parked at the TTC to brace for Hurricane Ian!
As you’ve likely heard, Fort Wilderness closed as of 8 a.m. today due to Hurricane Ian.
Our friends at ResortTV1 spotted the campers parked neatly. You can see in this picture there are large RVs, fifth wheels and pop up campers parked at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Campers at Fort Wilderness received a letter at their campsites on Monday, September 26.
This letter detailed the closure of Fort Wilderness due to Hurricane Ian.
Here’s what was in the letter:
Sept. 26, 2022

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Fort Wilderness history
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is one of the original resorts that was opened fifty years ago. Technically, it opened a few weeks after Disney World official began operating.
Walt Disney had a vision that Fort Wilderness guests could enjoy the great outdoors while visiting Walt Disney World.
The campground has 750 acres of natural beauty. When I camped there this past December, this became my absolute favorite campground!
I was in a pop-up trailer, and had plenty of room for our pop-up as well as a tent for my teenage son.
Each campsite is beautiful and spacious, and in close proximity to a well-equipped comfort station.
While you can’t camp there right now, if you’re a camper you should consider it for a future Disney World vacation!
