VIDEO: WDW Railroad Testing During Park Hours Today
With yesterday’s announcement about Tron Lightcycle / Run opening in th spring at Magic Kingdom, it comes as no surprise that a much anticipated train reopening continues to take test runs around the beloved theme park.
Though hidden behind shrubs, the Walt Disney World Railroad took a loop around Magic Kingdom today, bringing much excitement to those waiting for its return.
Closed four years ago due to construction in Tomorrowland on Tron Lightcycle / Run, Walt Disney World Railroad received new track recently. The previous route collided with the space where the Tron attraction now sits just next to Space Mountain.
Today, we spotted the train as it turned the corner around the Fantasyland Station. The train makes three stops when operating with stations in Fantasyland, Frontierland, and at the main location on Main Street U.S.A.
Though we still do not have a reopening date for the railroad, these more frequent runs do signal that a return may be coming soon.
With fall festivities in full swing at Magic Kingdom, we hope to see the Walt Disney World Railroad transporting guests soon. The ride makes for a great respite midday in the park as well as a super way to get from one end of Magic Kingdom to the other.
Of course, we will keep our eyes out for any information about an official return date and share that with you all as soon as we hear.
Beyond Trains: Other Exciting Favorites Returning to Magic Kingdom
Yesterday at the 2022 D23 Expo, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, also announced that “Happily Ever After” will return to Magic Kingdom next year. The beloved fireworks show ended its run about a year ago to make way for “Disney Enchanment.” Its return certainly brought an enormous cheer from the crowd and excitement throughout the Disney fan community!
