If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that as part of the D23 Expo, Disney is holding a Theme Park Panel hosted by Chairperson of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Josh D’Amaro. This event has been a treasure trove of awesome information chief among them the news that the Pacific Wharf area of Disney California Adventure is going to be getting a fabulous makeover.
Fans of Big Hero 6 will be pleased to know that Pacific Wharf will soon be San Fransokyo! For those unfamiliar, this is the fictitious city from the beloved film. The city has an Eastern- Western blend of aesthetics covering an extensive region of the Pacific Ocean.
As you can see from the image above, San Fransokyo features some noteworthy San Francisco landmarks with some Japanese touches. This includes the Golden Gate Bridge, Transamerica Pyramid and Port of San Francisco. Japanese flora and fauna can also be found throughout the city such as cherry blossoms!
As of going to print, Josh D’Amaro has not revealed what attractions and amenities will be part of this fabulous new neighborhood. We do know however, that there will be a chance to meet Baymax as well as spots to eat and shop! We expect more details to be revealed in the weeks and months ahead so keep following along with us!
