Delectable Disney World Foodie News For December!
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that we kicked off Cyber Monday with some exciting news – Storybook Dining is returning to Artist Point next month. But that’s not all, we’ve got some additional eats and treats to share with you as well as the return of a popular Moderate Resort eatery – Boatwrights Dining Hall.
Let’s dive in!:
Boatwright’s Dining Hall
Considered by many Disney regulars to be a hidden gem, you’ll find this table service eatery at Disney’s Port-Orleans Resort – Riverside. We are pleased to report that starting on December 14th the restaurant will once again be serving up their Southern specialties. Reservations will open on December 2nd.
Highlights of the menu will include:
- Chef’s Platter – featuring ribs, Nashville hot chicken, smoked sausage, barbecued beef brisket with mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, street corn and green beans.
- General Fulton’s Prime Rib
- Deep-South Shrimp and Grits
- Boatwrights Jambalaya
- Boatwright’s Harvest Jambalaya (Plant-based)
We also recommend that you finish y our meal off with the Mississippi Mud Crème Brulee which is a decadent chocolate brulee with a chocolate shortbread cookie!
50th Celebrate Shake – Beach and Cream Soda Shop
Head over to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts for this birthday cake-flavored shake drizzled in gold glitter glaze topped with a slice of 50th Anniversary birthday cake to celebrate Disney World’s important milestone!
“Dynamite” Cinnamon Roll Sticks – Whispering Canyon Café
This Wilderness Lodge table service spot is one of our go-to spots for breakfast and now there’s even more reason to head there in the AM. The “Dynamite” Cinnamon Roll Sticks feature five fiery red sticks filled with cinnamon schmear sprinkled with crushed red-hot candies and a drizzle of cinnamon oil. Oh and did we mention they also come with a bacon wick!
These sharable sticks of cinnamon goodness are served with a warm candied nut glaze.
White Chocolate Peppermint Cream Cheese Mousse – Satul’li Canteen
While we’re on the subject of beautiful treats, how about this gorgeous goodie! This cream cheese mousse is covered in peppermint sauce and served with chocolate cookie crumbles. It will be available at this Animal Kingdom quick service spot from December 20 – 27th.
La Creperie de Paris – EPCOT
This French Creperie is the new kid on the block having recently opened as part of EPCOT’s Ratatouille expansion. But, it should not be overlooked. This restaurant serves savory galettes and sweet dessert crepes, along with some of Brittany’s most famous hard ciders.
The eatery also offers a prix fixe menu with a choice of soup or salade maison, choice of one galette with a glass of hard cider, soda; and a choice of one dessert crepe.
Magic Kingdom Park
There are a few noteworthy treats being added to the seasonal menus at Magic Kingdom this month. A great starting point is the Opening Day Celebration Cake at the Main Street Bakery. It’s made up of milk chocolate mousse complete with a raspberry center. There’s also a gluten-friendly chocolate cake topped with balloon sprinkles and a chocolate pice.
Over at Storybook Treats they’re also serving up the Seven Dwarfs Specialty Cone. You’ll love this combination of cranberry vanilla soft-serve in a cone with a chocolate belt buckle and an adorable chocolate “Grumpy” face. But act fast you can only get this cutie through January 9th.

Another treat we can’t wait to try is the Black Forest Cheesecake at Pinocchio Village House. This goodie is available through January 9th and features tasty chocolate cheesecake topped with cherry compote, whipped cream, chocolate shavings and a white chocolate coin inspired by “it’s a small world.”
Disney Water Parks
For those looking to enjoy some fun in the sun this holiday season, we recommend a visit to Disney’s water parks where from December 12 – January 7th they’ll be serving up their own delicious holiday eats and treats.
Here are three noteworthy goodies you won’t want to pass up!
- Orange Bird Holiday Citrus Swirl –DOLE Whip Orange and Lime swirl in a holiday waffle cone, and a white chocolate Orange Bird Santa (available at Warming Hut)
- Merry Merry Melon –Melon- and apple-flavored frozen rum cocktail with a red sugared rim topped with a cherry (available at Frostbite Freddie’s)
- Peppermint Milkshake –Peppermint-flavored milkshake with white chocolate whipped cream and holiday sprinkles (available at Lottawatta Lodge)
