Star Wars Mom Billie Lourd Shared Special Pics
Billie Lourd recently shared a special tribute to her mom Carrie Fisher
One of my favorite young actors is Billie Lourde, Lieutenant Connix in the Star Wars sequel. Not only was it cool to see Fisher’s real daughter join her on-screen, but it was heartwarming (and at the same time heartbreaking) to know that Lourde stepped in for her mom to help complete The Rise of Skywalker.
We wrote about that scene here:
Recently, Lourde surprised the internet with a wonderful two-pic set on Instagram, which featured a tribute to her late mother Carrie.

This year’s Star Wars Day pics and this year’s Mother’s Day post from Lourd are so touching and happy, especially when you look back on her stream to find heart-rendering posts like the below.

All of the photos clear indications of how hard it can be to both celebrate and mourn at the same time.
However, we think everyone agrees, Lourd’s “Star Wars Day 2021” pics are so cute:
And as far as thinking specifically of Carrie Fisher as a mother, I loved this passage in Town & Country back in 2017.
Speaking of a part she had on television, Billie said, “I was so hard on myself about it—I hated how I looked, hated my performance. I was really frustrated. She told me, ‘Come over right now. I want to watch this with you.’ And she made me sit down and watch it, and she forced me to see the good parts. She was incredible like that. But she was really hard on me, saying, “Shut up, you’re great in this. Have faith in yourself. Be more confident.”
Great advice then; great advice now.
We could all use some more Princess Leia (and Billie Lourd) in our lives, especially on Mother’s Day.
