Falcon and the Winter Soldier: First Reactions
Critics are already raving about The Falcon and the Winter Soldier…
Hey, I am JUST FINE with early reactions. And I am EVEN BETTER when they are positive; this is especially so about Marvel projects.
And, as reported by James Hibberd of The Hollywood Reporter, things are looking good for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (and, for that matter, Disney Plus).
The first reactions to Marvel’s new Disney+ series are here.
An embargo was lifted Friday morning on reporters who saw the premiere episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Sweet Synopsis
Here’s a selection of statements and synopsis from Twitter:
Critics have seen Episode 1 of #FalconAndWinterSoldier, and this show is going to be massive. Critics are praising how “incredibly well-written” it is, the big “visceral” action sequences on par w/ the films, & how emotional, funny, & touching Sam & Bucky’s relationship is. pic.twitter.com/DfoASjWLs8

Breakdown is exporting now! I got a little emotional while recording the video at one point. I'm gonna miss…
…oh wait, episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki are coming up and gonna be filled with more Easter Eggs?
IT NEVER STOPS.

Individual reactions:
-
The first episode of THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER is exactly what you think it’ll be, but that’s not a bad thing. If you like this world and like these characters, you will like this. It’s exactly what’s been advertised: more Marvel but shaped like a television show now. JACOB HALL

If the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is any indication of the whole season, fans are in for an action-packed treat! Looking forward to diving more into these two incredible heroes!… Episode 1 is 48 glorious minutes and ends with a WHAT moment! TESSA SMITH

Sure, it’s totally different than #WandaVision, but “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” holds to the Phase 4 recurring theme: the real damage from #Endgame was the emotional trauma. AMY FULCHER
-
#TheFalconAndTheWinterSoldier has some really touching ties to the MCU and those are some of my favorite parts of Episode 1. References to other characters, questions about the Avengers, the world’s view of Endgame storylines… some small-scale, fun MCU world-building. BRANDON DAVIS

First episode of Falcon and The Winter Soldier feels like a Marvel movie in a big way, a lot more so than Wandavision (not a knock). The opening action screen feels like a huge MCU action sequence (and not a tv fight), story feels like it has significant MCU consequences. PETER SCIRETTA

Enjoy this PREVIEW for the upcoming six episodes. We’re reacting to the exclusive footage that has been released, not Episode 1 — that’ll be next week. And welcome MT to Inside Marvel! If you’ve seen his videos, you know he’s amazing and we’re lucky to have him with us at NR.
