Top Seven Places to Watch the Super Bowl on Sunday
Well, the big game has finally arrived after a bizarre season of football.
Maybe your team has made it to the big game, which means that you’re either a Kansas City fan on the hot streak of your life or a long-suffering Tampa Bay fan.
Well, I guess you could be a Tom Brady lover or hater dedicated to watching how his tenth Super Bowl ends.
Alternatively, you may just want to watch the Super Bowl ads this year.

I actually had a friend produce one of last year’s and have teased him about its icy reception.
Whatever the case, you need a place to see how the story ends. Here are seven places at Walt Disney World where you can watch the Super Bowl.
Geyser Point Bar & Grill
Ordinarily, I’d tell you to stake out ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk and hold a seat for the big game.
Unfortunately, this sports bar hasn’t reopened due to the pandemic and a lack of demand.
So, I know that some of you are scrambling for options right now, including my wonderful sister-in-law, who is probably reading this at Walt Disney World right now.
I wanted to provide people in this situation with several options, as I presume many of these options will fill up on game day.
You should remain adaptable by planning early and then switching to plan b (or c or d) if your initial plan fails.
For starters, you can take a boat from Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Toward the back near Bay Lake sits Geyser Point, a fantastic restaurant. This video shows the type of televisions on display here:

Conveniently, there’s even a football game on, giving you the best possible comparison.
This place WILL book up on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s probably the top option for guests at Wilderness Lodge.
Come early, and it’s too late!
Gurgling Suitcase Libations & Spirits
A simple strategy involves a trip to Disney Springs. When you arrive, you can probably tell from the crowds whether a place has the game on.

Make a quick beeline around the entertainment complex, checking to see whether giant TVs are visible inside.
I’ll only suggest one Disney Springs option as I expect the other good ones to be taken.
However, if you have no luck at Disney Springs, I’ll suggest this fallback option.
Take the boat from Disney Springs to Disney’s Old Key West Resort. This spacious campus includes an excellent bar called Gurgling Suitcase.

This place will NOT be your first option or even your second or third. It only has a couple of modest TVs behind the counter.
The drinks are delicious, and the service is excellent, though. You can sit outside and watch the Super Bowl while drinking your way into gameday bliss.
Options like this are for people who can watch the game on their phone/tablet and don’t need a big screen.
This video shows just how small the TV is:
Hotel Community Rooms
I’m a bit worried about suggesting this one.
I know from past experience the community rooms at Disney resorts have proven popular during the Super Bowl.

Guests from around the world can come together to watch the big game together. Sometimes, fans of rival teams can root against one another.
However, during the pandemic, I presume that Disney will take some precautions to maintain social distancing.
Coronavirus hadn’t become widespread at this time last year. As such, I don’t have a point of comparison.
I strongly suggest that you call the front desk or ask Guest Services via My Disney Experience about status.
Someone there can clarify whether the community rooms will remain open during the Super Bowl. Also, you may need directions to find these places.
That aspect alone justifies the attempt. Disney hotel community rooms are among the best-kept secrets on the campus.
I LOVE the one at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Also, as an FYI, some hotel lobbies have shown the Super Bowl in past years. I can make no promises about 2021.
Rix Sports Bar & Grill
Here’s a good plan for those of you who want some certainty.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort includes an unheralded sports bar.
A running joke between my wife and I is that reservations at Rix Sports Bar & Grill are always available.
Well, the Super Bowl appears to be an exception. I’ve checked My Disney Experience multiple times recently, as I’d expected to be in Orlando that day.
Rix has had reservations on most occasions, but I’ve noticed at least two instances where it appeared sold out.

So, if this option sounds good to you, please book an Advanced Dining Reservation immediately.
You should also know that Rix is a Table Service restaurant, making it more expensive than some other options.
Fried Mozzarella costs $14 here. That’s just wrong. Of course, if you’re not worried about cost…
Shula’s Steak House
NFL fans despise a practice that happens every season.
Whenever the last undefeated team loses, members of the 1974 Miami Dolphins crack open a bottle of wine.
The players do this because theirs was the last (and only) team to go undefeated…and they love to gloat about it.
The coach of that team was Don Shula, who leveraged his Hall of Fame coaching credentials into a beloved steak house franchise.
You can take a boat from EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.
At the Dolphin, you’ll find Shula’s Steak House, one of the most expensive eateries on the Disney campus. It also comes with a dress code.
So, you cannot show up in a Pat Mahomes jersey and expect that they’ll let you in, stylish though you may look.
Still, the price of a meal here keeps many guests away, even on Super Bowl Sunday.
I’ve noticed a substantial amount of availability on My Disney Experience. This place qualifies as a safe bet, although an expensive one.
Splitsville
Okay, here’s my one Disney Springs recommendation.
A bowling alley may not spring to mind when you’re thinking about the Super Bowl.
You should know that Disney won’t allow a regular bowling alley at its prized entertainment complex, though.
Splitsville embodies high-end hobbyist entertainment, with fun activities everywhere and surprisingly good food.
Most importantly, this place features more TVs than anywhere else at Disney Springs.
Even though I expect this place to approach socially distant capacity well before kickoff, you’ll still have plenty of room to find a great spot.
After all, the restaurant’s capacity limit all but ensures that everyone gets a TV to themselves. You can look at the setup here:

I can never make any guarantees on this stuff. However, on paper, Splitsville looks like the best Disney Springs option for Super Bowl LV.
Your Hotel Room
I’m leaving this suggestion for last, but it honestly might prove the best bet.

(Disney)
All Disney hotel rooms come with televisions, and they’re usually nice HD sets with great pictures.
Watching the game from your hotel room may not be the most extraordinary experience of your life, as Super Bowl parties exist for a reason.
Many of us enjoy getting together with a large group to talk smack about the game…or gossip about the other people at the party.
However, we’re in the midst of a pandemic. Your hotel room qualifies as the safest place at Walt Disney World.

Plus, you can watch the game in various states of undress. As such, it’s the most comfortable way to catch the game.
My suggestion to you is to utilize Mobile Ordering to grab a nice dinner spread. Pick a place that sells nachos or other sorts of chips.
You could also stop at your hotel’s general store to pick up some supplies like these.

You’ll enjoy all the comforts of home while watching the big game at Disney.
