Anthony Daniels: “We’re NOT doomed!”
Star Wars C-3PO promotes COVID-19 vaccination….
Princess Leia told Rey, “Never underestimate a droid.”
As per usual, Carrie Fisher and her alter ego were correct.
And even though Threepio is often fatalistic, C-3PO’s alter ego is not.
C-3PO Fights COVID
Check out Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels latest tweet:
Droids don’t get Covid.
But humans do.
Please…
Get vaccinated, too.We're NOT doomed!

And after he did, at least one reply mentioned this wonderful throwback commercial, which proves Daniels has been promoting vaccines for a very long time.
Anthony Daniels For Vaccinations
Meanwhile, SyFy.com’s Josh Weiss explained the sitch:
The 74-year-old performer, who has appeared in almost every single Star Wars project to date, celebrated his injection with a tweet that perfectly riffs on 3PO’s pessimistic personality. “Droids don’t get COVID. But humans do,” he wrote in the caption. “Please…Get vaccinated, too. We’re NOT doomed!” Fittingly, Daniels received the injection from one Dr. Aboi of the U.K.’s National Health Service, whose surname makes us think of Obi-Wan Kenobi. In other words, the Force is truly strong, with the frontline healthcare professionals working tirelessly around the clock to immunize the planet’s population against the novel pathogen, which has claimed over two million lives so far.
And Weiss reminded readers that Daniels has already been promoting safe practices during the current pandemic.
Be human.
Wear a mask.

I’ll say this. As I get older, the work and attitude of Anthony Daniels become more and more of consistent joy. How often have I laughed out loud at Threepio’s antics or Daniels over-the-top interviews?
He is, simply put, one of my favorite people on the planet.
And now, as I see him lend a hand toward such a good cause, well – I am glad C-3PO’s pluck transcends the screen.
Thank you, Mr. Daniels. For everything.
