Scrims Extended at Main Street Station at Magic Kingdom
Earlier this month we shared images with you that shows scrims covering a good portion of Main Street Train Station at Magic Kingdom.
The station is currently closed for refurbishment.
During our visit to the Magic Kingdom this evening we noticed that even more of the area had been covered. This time going all the way to the top of the central tower.
Though we didn’t capture any images of the other side (facing Cinderella Castle) both side of the station are covered.
Disney hasn’t revealed too much regarding the nature of the work being done to the station. However, we suspect they are making the most of the Walt Disney World Railroad being closed due to the TRON coaster construction and decided it would be a nice time to give the station a bit of a sprucing up!
However, we here at MickeyBlog HQ are a bit surprised that Disney opted to carry out the work during the busy holiday period when more guests than usual will be visiting the parks.
No official word has been given in terms of how long the scrims will be up at the train station. The station itself has been closed since December 2018 and is expected to reopen in 2021.
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog.
We’ll be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks throughout the holiday period.
If we notice any further changes to the station we promise to let you know.
For those visiting the theme parks over the holiday period its also worth mentioning that work is also being carried out over at “it’s a small world” though those scrims are starting to come down as the works nears completion.
