Guests Evacuated from Peter Pan’s Flight at the Magic Kingdom
Peter Pan took flight today at the Magic Kingdom… and didn’t come down! Several Guests including the wonderful Smith Family were on the iconic attraction earlier today and had to be evacuated mid-flight due to technical issues with the ride.
If you are curious what happens when you are evacuated from Peter Pan’s Flight, The Smith Family shared their photos of the experience with us. Overall, they said, it wasn’t too bad and they even received two FastPasses per person! And, let’s be honest, those FastPasses are even extra valuable right now since they are only available in special situations like this one.
Once Peter Pan’s Flight stopped and it was determined it would be not be moving again for some time, Reedy Creek Paramedics and Firefighters entered the attraction to assist Guests off the ride with a ladder. Cast Members were also on hand to help.
As when all attractions are evacuated, the lights are turned on for safety giving all evacuees a unique view of the ride. Speaking of unique, how different is it to see actual humans walking through what is supposed to be a birds eye view of London and Neverland!
While it is very rare for an attraction to be evacuated, it does occur from time to time. In addition to Peter Pan’s Flight, one of the other most unique rides to have to be evacuated from is Space Mountain which is also in the Magic Kingdom. I’ve been on the People Mover when the trains on Space Mountain came to a stop and it’s definitely a completely different experience when the lights are on!
Let us know in the comments below if you have ever been evacuated off a ride at a Disney Park in the comments below! I know the Smith Family isn’t going to forget their ride on Peter Pan’s Flight at the Magic Kingdom today for a very long time!
