Like The Mandalorian? So Does Disney+
Star Wars actor Giancarlo Esposito told People.com Mandalorian season three and four are coming…
The Mandalorian hype is real. And with just a few weeks between fans and the second season, it seems clear that nobody is ready for the mini-saga-within-The-Saga to stop.
More Mandalorian Is Coming
According to TheDisInsider.com, who picked up on Esposito’s quote, you can add Moff Gideon to that list:
Back in April, reports surfaced that Lucasfilm was already in development on a third season of The Mandalorian, with showrunner Jon Favreau already in the writing process, with the studio already laying the groundwork for where they want to take the story.
Last night, Giancarlo Esposito, who plays the villainous Moff Gideon, spoke with People prior to the Emmy’s ceremony and teased that a fourth season is already in the works.
The next season of The Mandalorian [season 2] is going to be very interesting because you’re going to start to find out the power of The Child, what The Child really means. You will also start to uncover the origins of the Darksaber that Moff Gideon has and how that plays into previous Star Wars history connected to The Clone Wars and other shows. And you’ll start to get a real dramatic sense of the territory. We’re living in a universe that’s huge, and there’s so much to explore. So I think this show is going to start to lay the groundwork for the depth and breadth that’s going to come in season 3 and season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”
What’s Coming In The Mandalorian
That sounds incredible and given how deeply it resonated with fans, hopes remain high for its story arc.
Many, many facets to it’s possible storyline include:
- A possible appearance by Boba Fett (Temura Morrison);
- Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson?);
- Sabine Wren (Sahsa Banks?);
- Fennec Shand (Ming-na Wen).
However, the real pull for the second season of the show is the continuation of the space western.
And, of course, Din Djarin’s quest to find The Child’s family.
