A Piece of Mary Blair’s ‘Peter Pan’ Artwork Is Coming Up For Auction
Mary Blair was an absolute icon and her colorful unique aesthetic can be found on attractions like “Alice in Wonderland” and of course “it’s a small world. Blair also drew concept art for several classic Disney films including greats like Peter Pan, Dumbo, Fantasia, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella and more.
If you’ve ever visited Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Disney World’s monorail line then you’ve also seen Mary Blair’s towering Mosaic in the atrium. With all of this rich history, wouldn’t it be amazing to own an original piece of Mary Blair artwork?
The item coming up for auction is a Mary Blair concept art/color key painting that depicts Peter Pan and Tinker Bell leading the Lost Boys, Michael, John and Wendy through Neverland. The gouache painting is 19″ x 9″ and is in Very Good Condition. There are some pinholes in the corners as well as minor handling. The item will be going up for auction via Heritage, with proxy bidding ending on June 20.
