What Are Your Favorite Disney Characters Doing Right Now?
Friends, let’s be honest. We’re almost all stuck inside right now. And that leads to an interesting question. What would some of your favorite Disney characters do if they were self-isolating right now? I have a few thoughts…
Let’s start with the Disney Princesses. Many of these strong heroines had isolation thrust on them already. So, we already know what some of them would do.
For example, Belle would catch up on her reading. With a full library at her fingertips, the world is her oyster. Still, she might want to sit down for a musical meal at some point.
Under the sea, Ariel would spend most of her time wistfully fantasizing about being a part of our world. She would also play with Flounder a bit. Ariel knows that pets need our attention while we’re home more.
Plus, with all the extra time, she might count her Athingabobs. Last time she checked, she had 20, but someone fishing in the area might have accidentally caught one.
Snow White might have the most challenging time in self-quarantine. After all, she’s used to having her pals, the Seven Dwarfs, hanging out with her. Thankfully, since animals are immune to Coronavirus, Snow White could still play with the adorable woodland creatures.
I’d also suggest that she take this opportunity to do some internet research. Specifically, she should google articles on how to avoid getting conned. Who eats an apple from a complete stranger?
Tiana might have the worst time right now. She’d have to trust Naveen to run the restaurant. I certainly hope he doesn’t add frog legs to the menu.
On the plus side, Tiana could test some new recipes in her own kitchen. Plus, after working two jobs for so long, she deserves a break.
Finally, I’ve got one word for Rapunzel: Haircut. Yes, most salons aren’t open right now. I think she could probably still find somebody selling a Flowbee on eBay, though.
How do superheroes spend their downtime? I’m confident it varies depending on who the hero is.
For example, we already know that Thor should keep busy. Otherwise, he plays videogames while downing ginormous pizzas and chugging ale. He’s also prone to threatening other players over the internet. Yes, Thor’s a toxic gamer! So, he needs to keep busy with workouts and lots of video chats with Valkyrie.
Meanwhile, I expect Thor’s buddy, Bruce Banner, to behave like a productive member of society. With no threats around, Smart Hulk would focus on patents, not punching.
I expect that he’d make several remarkable breakthroughs in gamma research while working alone in his laboratory. He could also make some terrific strength-based TikTok videos to keep up everyone’s spirits online.
Black Panther’s self-quarantine would cause some problems. After all, he’s the ruler of a country. Then again, I guess Justin Trudeau just did it…and he didn’t have someone as competent as Shuri waiting in the wings to replace him when needed.
So, T’Challa wouldn’t have to worry about his people. He could focus on himself for once instead. And we should all take a bit of me-time during this pandemic.
Gamora is someone I wonder about. She’s not the same Gamora that we’ve known. So, I suspect she would spend part of her time learning everything that she can about Peter Quill. That’s not hard since she’d have to self-isolate on his ship.
I guess Gamora could employ Mantis as a go-between since that woman is empathic. Also, it wouldn’t hurt Gamora to play some Wordscraper with her sister, Nebula. Their relationship needs some healing. Gamora really needs to let Nebula win, though.
As for the Scarlet Witch, I worry that she would just binge-watch old 1950s family sitcoms all day.
What would WALL-E if he didn’t have to clean all day but couldn’t play with Eva, either? For that matter, is there any scenario where a robot would need to self-quarantine? Well, I guess they do get the occasional virus.
Anyway, I suspect WALL-E would spend all day trying to figure out his Rubik’s Cube. And I mean how to work it, not how to solve it. With her mission complete, I’m unsure what EVE would do.
She can already solve a Rubik’s Cube in three seconds. Maybe she should work on an exercise program for the chubby humans on that spaceship.
I think Sully would be fine in isolation. He’d finally get some peace and quiet away from Mike. However, I’m confident that Sully would spend most of his time worrying about Boo. Also, brushing his fur probably takes a lot of time.
Conversely, Mike would go crazy, as many extroverts are currently discovering that personal interaction is what fulfills them. Hang in there if you’re one of them. It would give him a chance to work on his stand-up material, though. He could finally stop resorting to self-harm to entertain the kids.
Over in Scotland, I’m confident that Merida would love a break from her brothers. She’d undoubtedly miss her mother. However, Merida could utilize the downtime to practice for the next Highland games. As the defending champion, she has a lot on the line.
Finally, I don’t think a toy could get sick, so Woody, Buzz, and the gang wouldn’t change any right now. Similarly, all the Cars would be okay. And the situation wouldn’t be bad news for everyone. You know who would very much enjoy self-quarantine? Carl Fredricksen.
What would Mickey Mouse do while in self-isolation? I believe that he and Minnie would act like Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. They’d stay together no matter what.
While trapped together, they’d make the world a better place by sharing laughter and joy with the rest of us, just like they already do each day.
I presume that Goofy and Pluto would join Mickey & Minnie, although I hope that Goofy doesn’t have to drive a train to reach them.
As for Donald and Daisy, this time apart would help them both a lot. My guess is that they’d fight and make up about 15 times.
Their relationship has had so many breakups that somebody should cast Daisy on Real Housewives of Disney, just to listen to her complain about her fella. In her defense, Donald is a LOT.
So, what do you think that your favorite Disney characters would do during their downtime?
