Cirque Du Soleil Postpones Opening of New Disney Springs Show ‘Drawn to Life’
We’ve got some sad news for those looking forward to checking out ‘Drawn To Life’ production from Cirque du Soleil which was originally slated to open at Disney Springs’ West End next month.
The company just announced today that the production which will combine the awe-inspiring greatness of a Cirque du Soleil performance with the magic of Disney will be postponed due to the Governor of Florida’s restrictions on crowd size to curb the spread of COVID-19.
As you can see from above, the Orlando production has been temporarily suspending with no further information on when the production may resume.
In a tweet posted by the company this morning they said the following, “We’d like to thank you for your support in these challenging times. We share your disappointment in regard to the suspension and postponement of our shows around the world and we want you to know we’re working with our partners to find solutions for everyone”
Drawn to Life which can best be described as an acrobatic journey, tells the story of Julie a girl who discovers an unexpected gift from her father who is a Disney Animator – an unfinished animation. This is the catalyst for Julies inspiring quest guided by a surprising pencil and filled with childhood Disney memories!
The story is driven by 10 incredible acrobatic acts. This includes a Rhythmic Gymnastics group and an aerial pole routine (which you can see in the video below) as well as brand-new animation created by Disney Artists and led by Eric Goldberg who is best known for bringing the Genie from the animated Aladdin to life!
Previews of ‘Drawn to Life’ were expected to start in early April. According to reports, Cirque du Soleil is contacting guests directly impacted by the news.
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely. Keep checking in with MickeyBlog for the latest ‘Drawn to Life’ news and updates.
