Disney+ Replaces Film Cards with Iconic Disney Villains
For the Halloween season, Disney+ has replaced the film title cards for their animated classics on the platform with villain headshots.
The choices appear under their own section on the homepage labeled “Villains” but have still replaced the title cards in other sections of the homepage, including the trending section.
This allows the artwork of all of the villains to see all around the streaming service, and not just in their designated section which we love!
It should be noted that not all of the Disney animated classics have been made over for the spooky season. The chosen ones are all beloved favorites within the Disney community.
Films and villains include Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Maleficent representing Sleeping Beauty, and Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog.
The change has been made as part of Disney+’s second annual HallowStream event which encourages guests to enjoy classic spooky Disney content such as Hocus Pocus and Halloween-themed episodes of classic Disney Channel shows.
New favorites such as the instant classic Muppets Haunted Mansion launched during this year’s HallowStream event, alongside Under Wraps and Just Beyond.
It is currently unknown if these new villain title cards will disappear from the site come November 1st, or if Disney+ will hang on to them longer.
We personally think the takeover is a great idea and we’d love to see the new title cards stick around longer than just a week!
It is small additions like this that make us smile, so well done Disney+ and thank you for making the Halloween season a little bit more frightening!
