Christina Aguilera Releases New Song for Live-Action Mulan
Christina Aguilera was responsible for the song “Reflections” from the original 1998 animated version of Mulan. For the new live-action adaptation she has recorded a remake of “Reflections” and a brand new song, “Loyal Brave True”.
“Loyal Brave True” is available right now and “Reflections” will be released later this month along with the movie (March 27). Both music videos were directed by Niki Caro, who also was at the helm of the film.
“The film Mulan and the song ‘Reflection’ coincided with getting me my first record deal,” Aguilera said. “It’s amazing to come back to such an incredible movie that’s full of power and meaning, and that meaning holds the test of time: staying true to yourself, being who you are, and teaching how to be fearless. My new song, ‘Loyal Brave True,’ represents the fine balance between vulnerability and strength.” (comicbook.com)
Aguilera was 16 years old when she recorded the original “Reflections”. It remains one of the most well-known songs from Disney film. Walt Disney President of Music and Soundtracks, Michael Lieb says, “Her original performance of ‘Reflection’ from the animated film when she was a then 16-year-old unknown, holds its appropriate place in the history of music and was a launch pad for her unparalleled career that would follow” (comicbook.com).
Fans have just a few weeks to wait before the much anticipated live-action Mulan and the release of “Reflections”.
