Live-Action film “Mulan” Has a New TV Spot
A new 30 second TV spot for Disney’s live-action Mulan dropped recently. Entitled “Impossible” the spot shows some of the battle scenes and fight choreography of China’s legendary warrior from the film.
The spot opens with an emotional scene of Mulan’s father praying for the safety of his daughter. Like the 1998 animated film, Mulan takes her father’s place to defend China from the invading Huns. In the spot, viewers are shown scenes of Mulan preparing for battle. Several images were also shown in this year’s Superbowl final trailer.
There are several notable deviations from the animated film. There will be no musical numbers present in the live-action film. Also, new characters will be introduced including the powerful witch Xian Lang (Gong Li) and Chen Honghui (Yoson An), who will be a similar character to Li Shang from the animated film. Also absent is the comic-relief of the red-dragon, Mushu.
The film opens March 27th and is sure to be just as action packed as the newest TV spot. We will all be watching as Mulan battles to do the Impossible and Close the gap between duty and tradition in order to save China.
