Fantastic Mr. Fox Gives a Tip of the Hat To A Couple of Awesome Disney Films
Did you know that Wes Anderson’s Academy Award® nominated film, Fantastic Mr. Fox has found a new home on Disney+? Now subscribers to Disney’s streaming service and follows the adventures of a clever fox and his family.
And did you know that the film even gives a tip of the hat to a few foxy Disney films that came before it. Check out these awesome details uncovered by the Disney archives.
Let’s start with a scene that gives a tip of the feathered hat to Disney’s much-loved animated version of Robin Hood. In Mr. Fox, you can see him with his family relaxing outside a huge tree they call their home. During the scene, the record player is playing a song called “Love” In the film Robin Hood the song accompanies a stroll between Robin Hood and Maid Marian in the film. The song was written by Disney Legends George Bruns and Floyd Huddleston. The song was even nominated for an Academy Award in 1974.
We’ve got one more awesome Mr. Fox moment inspired by Disney. When the film first introduces Mr. Fox, the character is leaning against an apple tree and listening to “The Ballad of Davy Crockett” from Disney’s popular TV series of the same name!
